Membership Commitment
As a Christ-follower who recognizes that Jesus Christ is the center of my life, I now feel led by the Holy
Spirit to join with my brothers & sisters in agreement that Rockville Church of God of Prophecy is where
God has placed me to grow & mature in my relationship with Him— to find, understand, & follow God’s
plan for my life, & to grow with the vision & purpose of my church.
In doing so, I commit myself to God & to the other members of my church family to do the following…”
1 - I love Jesus & acknowledge that I belong to Him – the Lord of all creation
· By trusting in Him alone for forgiveness & hope
· By surrendering all of my days & nights to His plans for me
· By telling others the good news of hope & peace as a “fisher of men”
2 - I believe in & respect my church leaders & the direction they take
· By acknowledging that they are placed into leadership by the Holy Spirit
· By praying for them regularly
· By following & supporting them into the calling & ministries of my church
3 - I am willing to love the people of my church & spend time w/my church family
· By participating in church activities
· By placing a high priority on Christian fellowship
· By accepting people where they are, and for who they are, without regard for color, creed or race and
giving God time to “clean & restore life” to them
4 - As a member of this church, I believe in it enough to stand with it financially &
support it's ministries
· By living a disciplined & godly life that God can bless
· By giving regularly to invest in our ministries
· By viewing God as my Provider & returning an investment into His kingdom
5 - I am willing to serve God – with all my heart, soul, mind & strength
· By searching out & using my gifts & talents
· By taking time to serve other people
· By saying “yes” to the Holy Spirit, instead of “no”
Covenant
I ..... Standing in the presence of God and His people in Christ as a fellowship of believers, do by
covenant, promise to accept the Bible as the Word of God, promise to believe and practice its teachings
rightly divided with the New Testament as my rule of faith and practice, government and discipline, and
agreeing to walk in the light to the best of our knowledge and ability. I promise to be faithful in carrying out
my duties as assigned to me by God and my Pastor at this local church, so help me God.
