And he saith unto them, Follow me,
and I will make you fishers of men.

Seems real easy ...
Simply go out there ... for Jesus ...
... and tell people about Jesus, about salvation!
What could be simpler?
... But ...
... how many of us have been convicted to do that?
... how many of us have ventured out to do that?
... failed and said ... never again?
Many!
And do you know what?
... that is exactly what happened to Peter!
!!!
Peter went out to witness for Jesus ...
... failed and even denied Jesus ... three times!
... and said never again!
Yet Jesus didn't give up on Peter, He sought him ...
... found him fishing fish ... but catching nothing...

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship,
and ye shall find. They cast therefore,
and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
--- John 21:6

Just like Peter, we also have missed what Jesus said ...
Jesus did not say ... "Go out and be fishers of men!"
No! He said ... "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men!"
And when Peter had failed in his own strength ...
Jesus came and said to Him ... "Cast your net on the other side!"
Saying to Peter and to us ...
"If you want to fish for Me ... then follow My instructions!
... then don't go out in your own strength ... but in My strength!
... then let Me tell you where to go, what to do and how to do it!
... and you shall find ...
... and catch a multitude of fish for Me!"

And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them,
and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
